Porta Felice è il salotto a cielo aperto di Palermo sul mare. Costruita nel XVI secolo e rielaborata in forme barocche dopo un'esplosione, questa monumentale porta segnava l'antico ingresso alla città dal porto. Oggi è il simbolo del Foro Italico, il lungomare storico dove palermitani e turisti passeggiano ammirando il Golfo e le Mura delle Cattive.
Le sue due torri bombate, sormontate da piramidi, incorniciano l'arco centrale che si affaccia direttamente sull'acqua. Di sera, quando le luci del lungomare si accendono, Porta Felice diventa uno degli scenari più romantici della città. Attraversarla significa passare dal fermento del centro storico alla tranquillità del mare, in un viaggio di pochi metri che racchiude secoli di storia marinara e di commerci con il Mediterraneo.
I nostri mezzi — bus panoramici, pullman e trenini turistici — effettuano fermate regolari qui ogni 30 minuti circa. Il percorso copre tutto il centro storico e le zone esterne di Palermo. Scendi per una passeggiata sul Foro Italico, scatta foto con il mare sullo sfondo e goditi la brezza. Porta Felice is the open-air living room of Palermo by the sea. Built in the 16th century and reshaped in Baroque forms after an explosion, this monumental gate once marked the entrance to the city from the port. Today it is the symbol of the Foro Italico, the historic seafront where locals and tourists stroll admiring the Gulf and the Mura delle Cattive.
Its two bulging towers, topped by pyramids, frame the central arch that faces directly onto the water. In the evening, when the seafront lights come on, Porta Felice becomes one of the most romantic scenes in the city. Crossing it means moving from the bustle of the historic centre to the tranquillity of the sea, in a journey of a few metres that encompasses centuries of maritime history and trade with the Mediterranean.
Our vehicles — panoramic buses, coaches and tourist trains — make regular stops here approximately every 30 minutes. The route covers the entire historic centre and the outer areas of Palermo. Hop off for a walk along the Foro Italico, take photos with the sea in the background and enjoy the breeze. Then board the first available vehicle: with the daily Pass you have unlimited rides on the entire fleet.
